Infection prevention and control measures during TLC Space Therapy sessions at The Hive in the context of COVID-19

At TLC SPACE we are closely following the government guidance and intend to react to daily updates with regards social distancing and business opening.

We feel that we are currently able to offer assessments and therapy whilst retaining distancing procedures and high levels of hygiene to minimise risks to families and staff.

As such we will be using a room within The Hive at The Bee during the interim period where families can use a limited entrance accessed from the on-site car park where our therapist will be able to meet you at the allocated time of the appointment to take you through the premises to the therapy space.

Face-to-face assessments and therapy sessions will be limited to ensure time between appointments for all equipment used to be wiped down between visits.  Families will be asked to clean their hands on entering and leaving the building and may also be asked to during sessions.

We will not expect children or parents to wear gloves but these are available if they wish to do so. We do have masks available but we do not feel it is currently necessary to wear them during the assessment and that it is not appropriate for interaction with the children.  Our therapists may also frequently use hand gel.

The room will be set up in advance which limits how much the therapist will need to handle any of the assessment materials during the assessment or therapy session and they will do so as little as possible but instead direct the child and family as to how activities are to be carried.  As much as possible the therapist will maintain a distance and ask parents to help younger children to sit at a table or to use the equipment and help keep them engaged in the activities and games presented.

No payment will be taken onsite and invoices will be sent by email.

With these policies in place we believe the risk of a face-to-face assessment and therapy is minimised, although we appreciate there is always a risk involved.

The Hive is located at the The Bee, School road, Windlesham, GU20 6PD
